C'est en 1989 que le père de Sébastien et Olivier, Jean-Paul Royer, fonde la société "Maison Royer", spécialisée dans la production et l’élevage de gastéropodes. « C’était un peu fou, mais il s’est lancé dans un marché pas vraiment mûr : le caviar aux œufs d’escargots », se souvient Sébastien, un des deux fils à la tête de l’entreprise familiale. Ce dernier puis son frère Olivier rejoignent leurs parents au début des années 90. La « Maison Royer » est à l’époque installée à Saint-Paul-en-Pareds, proche des Herbiers en Vendée.
L’extractionde la bave d'escargot
La phase d’extraction de la bave d'escargot se déroule l’été une fois que les escargots sont adultes et après qu’ils aient passés plusieurs mois dans les parcs d'engraissement. Chez RoyeR Cosmétique, nous avons développé une nouvelle méthode d’extraction de la bave d’escargot, respectueuse de l’animal. Ce procédé unique consiste à chatouiller délicatement l’escargot, ce qui permet de recueillir la sécrétion de l’animal tout en le respectant.
Cette technique inoffensive pour l’animal nous a d’ailleurs valu la certification Ecocert ! Rassurez-vous, si nous travaillons à partir de bave fraîche, celle-ci est extraite sous atmosphère contrôlée pour éviter toute contamination, avant d’être doublement filtrée à 100 µm. Ces différentes étapes du procédé d’extraction permettent d’éliminer les potentielles bactéries, sans atténuer les propriétés de la matière brute !
